Do you use the same concrete mix for decorative concrete as you would for regular concrete?

Do you use the same concrete mix for decorative concrete as you would for regular concrete?

The answer is different depending on which type of decorative concrete you choose.

Answer

Exposed aggregate uses a different type of rock that is more cosmetically appealing therefore a different concrete mix. The process of exposing the aggregate washes away the top layer which typically hides blander granite or other type of rock.

Color concrete and stamped concrete can use the same mix. With these options, we are only adding color to our original mix. You are not exposing the rock inside. Therefore, you do not need to use a smaller decorative rock.
